Donegal officals are to investigate the shocking scenes that took place during Glenswilly’s narrow senior championship win over Naomh Conaill in Glenties on Sunday which saw Leo McLoone sustain an injury that rules him out of the Ulster final.

McLoone suffered a double break to his eye socket in an incident which saw up to 50 people enter the field of play after the end of the game which saw Glenswilly end the reign of Naomh Conaill.

The Donegal CCCC has said that a full investigation will now be launched “The county’s Competitions Control Committee will be looking into it thoroughly, but I can’t say anything more than that on it at the moment” said County secretary Aodh Mairtin O Fearraigh.

The news that McLoone will miss the match the Ulster final will come as a bitter blow to the county as he only recently battled back from a broken ankle that he suffered in March and was pushing hard to be included in the starting 15 on Sunday week.
