Liverpool’s long pursuit of Blackpool midfielder Charlie Adam looks set to becoming to an end after they agreed a fee, thought to be in region of 7 million pounds, for the player.
Liverpool first moved for the Scottish international in the January transfer window saw their reported £6.5 million offer rejected with the Seasiders keen to keep their captain at the time as they battled relegation.
That battle provided unsuccessful and with one year remaining on his contract Ian Holloway has decided to cash in on the 25 year old.
Blackpool had reportedly been holding out for £9 million but it would appear that a compromise has been found with the player now set to travel to Merseyside to agree terms and complete a medical.
A statement on Liverpoolfc.tv read “Liverpool Football Club today announced they have reached agreement with Blackpool for the transfer of Charlie Adam. The player will now travel to Merseyside for a medical and to discuss personal terms.”
Liverpool have stepped up their summer transfer activity in the last 24 hours having seen an official 15 million bid for Aston Villa winger Steward Downing rejected.
