Brown undergoing Wearside medical

Wes Brown is having a medical with Sunderland as he edges closer to a move to the Stadium of Light.

Earlier last month, Sunderland manager Steve Bruce agreed a 12 million deal with Manchester United for Brown, John O’Shea and Darron Gibson however he has been working hard to close out the deals since.

The 31 year old is surplus to requirements at Old Trafford after an injury hit few years with the club and has been linked with Stoke and Everton but Sunderland now appear to be in pole position for the former England defender.

The former Birmingham manager is also closing on O’Shea with the Irish defender set to follow Brown to wearside in the coming days.

Bruce has been busy in the transfer market this summer having already completed deals for Keiren Westwood, Conor Wickham, Craig Gardner, Sebastian Larsson and Ji Dong-won
