Preview:Limerick face Antrim in phase 3 of the All Ireland qualifiers at Parnell Park with both sides leaving behind home comforts for the first time in this stage of the All Ireland.
Antrim have face Westmeath and Carlow at home having bowed out of the Leinster championship at the hands of Wexford, who subsequently lost to Limerick in the last round.
Limerick will represent the biggest challenge for Dinny Cahill’s side to date with the Saffron’s having racked up two 8 point win’s over in their opening qualifiers, however they will be in fine fettle ahead of his encounter having claimed the Ulster Championship last week beating Armagh 2-20 to 2-12.
Limerick meanwhile bounced back from their thrilling Munster semi final defeat at the hands of Waterford to beat Wexford in convincing fashion at the Gaelic Grounds last weekend.
The league meeting between the two sides in April saw Limerick run out 12 points victors in a game that was marred by a touchline confrontation between Cahill and the Limerick substitutes while when the sides last met in the All Ireland series in 2005 Limerick ran out 4-25 to 1-09 winners.
Donal O’Grady makes two changes to his starting line up for this clash with Mark O’Riordan and Richie McCarthy coming in.
O’Riordan starts at centre-field in place of Paul Browne, who he replaced in the second half of the win over the Model County while McCarthy comes in at right corner-forward for the injured Graeme Mulcahy.
Limerick will look to Kevin Downes and young Declan Hannon, who scored 9 points against Wexford and has just finished his leaving cert as they look to book their place into the All-Ireland series.
Antrim will be relying on the skills of Neil McManus, who has scored 34 points in four games this year, Paul Shields and Karl McKeegan to help cause an upset.
