Bray Wanderers ended their recent poor run of form with a 2-1 away win over UCD, a result which moves the Seasiders up to 6th in the table.
Pat Devlin men’s have slipped from 2nd into the table to 7th after losing their last four games but any sign of nerves were vanished inside two minutes when Sean Houston headed home Gary Dempsey’s free to give Bray the lead.
Bray grew in confidence with the goal, dominating possession and restricting the home side to half chances and on 24 minutes they were two up thanks as Chris Shields deflected Jake Kelly’s effort into the net.
Martin Russell’s side were struggling to create any chances and looked short of ideas in the final third however 11 minutes in the second half they were handed a lifeline when Michael Leahy scored.
Chances were few and far between in the second half although Bray substitute John Mulroy missed a chance to seal the game with a close range header.
A scrappy ending to the game saw Bray hold on and end their run while UCD failed to build on last week’s win over Galway.
