Barry Ferguson looks set for move back to the premiership as Bolton and Sunderland line up a move for the Birmingham midfielder.
Fellow Championship side Blackpool are also in the race to sign the former Ranger’s star, who has one year left on his contract.
The 33-year-old has been linked with a departure from St Andrew’s following Blues’ relegation from the Premier League although it is believed that Ferguson’s desire to move is based on a wish to move further north to be nearer his family.
That has alerted Bolton boss Owen Coyle, who is looking to bolster his midfield and sees the tough tackling Ferguson as an attractive option.
Meanwhile, Sunderland who has already raided St Andrew’s for Craig Gardner are also keen on Ferguson.
