Harolds Cross set for exposure

Harolds Cross greyhound stadium will host a global webcast transmission of The Gain Feeds Corn Cuchulainn Final is broadcast around the world on Friday evening, July 15th 2011 from 9.00pm – 10.00pm.

The race will be broadcast live from the historic Dublin stadium by RTE and will be carried live via the RTE website around the world. www.rte.ie is Ireland’s leading website and attracts a large global audience from expatriate communities as far afield as the United States, Australia and beyond. The global audience is particularly driven by the broadcasters live sports content.

“This is a great opportunity for Irish greyhound racing to broadcast to the world,” said Irish Greyhound Board Head of Marketing, Orla Strumble. “The one hour webcast will include features on the sport, interviews with connections of the greyhounds and with the sponsor of the event, Gain Foods.”

“We already have a strong online community through the IGB website with readers from over 60 countries logging on each week for updates on greyhound racing in Ireland – this exposure will raise the profile of the sport again. Last year viewers from 21 countries watched the programme live showing the attraction of greyhound racing to a wide audience profile.”
