Spurs are lining up a move for Real Madrid midfielder Esteban Granero as they consider life without star midfielder Luka Modric

Modric’s future is very much up in the air at the moment as Chelsea, who have bid 27 million for the Croatian midfielder, lie in wait.

According to the Daily Mail however Harry Redknapp has identified Granero as the man he wants to fill Modric’s boots should he good and is set to make a £12.3million offer for the 24 year old.

The former Real Madrid B & C player made his name with Getafe and is said to be very similar in style to Modric with both players renowned as attacking midfielder’s with good close dribbling ability.

However while Modric has flourished at White Hart Lane, Granero has struggled to make the same impact in Spain making just 19 league appearances, 8 starts, last season.

Liverpool and Arsenal are also said to be interesting in the player who cost Real Madrid just £8m when he re-joined them in 2009.
