Cork born midfielder Aaron Doran look set to return up North after agreeing to join SPL side Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

The 20 year old spent the second half of the season on loan with Terry Butcher’s side and made a lasting impression on the former England captain who has now agreed a deal with Blackburn to sign the Irish under 21 International.

Doran has agreed a two-year contract and reportedly turned down moves to Motherwell, Aberdeen and St Johnstone who were all interested in his services.

Doran joined Rovers in 2007 and made his debut against Liverpool at the tail end of the 2009 season however he failed to make an impact at Ewood Park.
