Mayo Native Enda Kenny will not be attending the Connacht Senior Football final between his beloved Mayo and Roscommon this weekend.

It had been suggested that the Taoiseach would not receive the warmest of welcomes if he attended the game in light of his government’s decision to close the A&E department at Roscommon County Hospital this week.

Mr. Kenny will instead be taking time out from the pressure of running a county to spend time with his children in the Gaeltacht

Speaking to Galway Bay FM Mr Kenny said he only attends games to “enjoy them”.

Sportsnewsireland.com will have live score updates on all GAA Championship matches over the summer.
