Bolton are lining up a move for Danny Welbeck; that’s according to reports in the Daily Mail which states that Owen Coyle is interested in the 21 year old to replace Daniel Sturridge.

With Sturridge having returned to Chelsea and Johan Elemander move to pastures new in Turkey, Coyle has been on the lookout for a new striker all summer. The Scot has missed out on a move for Cameron Jerome who is destined for Stoke and now switched his attentions to Welbeck.

The under-21 striker enjoyed a successful loan spell at the Stadium of Light last season with Sunderland scoring 6 goals in 26 games and even managed to break into the full England squad such was his form.

The striker is rated highly by Alex Ferguson who would be reluctant to allow the player leave but with some many strikers on the books at Old Trafford another loan deal might be in the pipe line.
