According to reports in the Irish Independent Robbie Keane’s next club looks set to be a straight fight between Blackburn and West Bromwich Albion.
Blackburn are said to hold a long term interest in the player while Roy Hodgson, who is also reportedly lining up a club record bid for Shane Long is also thought to be fan of Ireland’s top scorer.
One thing is for certain Keane looks set to leave Spurs this summer and despite being linked with Martin Jol’s Fulham, Bolton and Sunderland it now seems that Ewood Park or the Hawthorns will be his destination.
Speaking at the announcement of the Irish squad for the Croatia game Irish manager Giovanni Trapattoni confirmed that Keane was in talks with clubs over a move, “Robbie is talking to two Premier League clubs” the Italian adding his wish for his talisman to be playing regular football “it’s important that he goes to one of them and plays”.
Despite being in excellent form for Ireland in recent International Keane endured a season to forget last season, falling out of favor at White Hart Lane and then struggling for form following a loan move to West Ham.
