Juventus are understood to have made an €8m bid for Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov.
Italian sports news outlet Itasportpress are reporting that the Serie A club’s general manager Beppe Marotta has been in touch with United regarding the Bulgarian attacker. It is believed that the striker is surplus to requirements at Old Trafford, despite the fact that he scored 20 goals last season and was joint top scorer in the Premiership.
Javier Hernandez and Wayne Rooney appear to be the two favoured strikers at the club and a number of European clubs have been linked with a move for Berbatov, including his former side, Tottenham.
However, Juventus are the first club to actually make a formal offer for the player and with just a year remaining on his contract, United could be tempted to sell to the Italians.
