Shamrock Rovers are just 180 minutes away from the Champions league proper after they reached the Champions league third qualifying round.

The League of Ireland champions were in pole position heading into the 2nd Leg clash against Flora Tallinn thanks to last week’s 1-0 win in Tallaght, secured courtesy of Chris Turner’s first half goal.

Michael O’Neill’s men knew that a draw would be enough to progress to the next round despite never looking likely to snatch the win, the Hoops were comfortable on the night and good value for the draw.

Rovers will now face Danish Super league side FC Copenhagen over two legs

Elsewhere there was heartbreak for Bangor City who suffered a morale deflating 10-0 defeat away to Finnish side HJK Helsinki. The Welsh champions had gone down 3-0 at home in the first league and let in eight second half goals to bow out 13-0 on aggregate.

Meanwhile current Northern Ireland champions Linfield are also out after they went down 2-0 away to Belarusian side BATE to go out 3-1 on aggregrate.
