Eoghan O’Dea in final table at World Series of Poker

Eoghan O’Dea(26) from Dalkey in County Dublin is currently in second place at the World Series poker tournament in Las Vegas.

Only 9 players now remain from the starting field of 6,865. O’Dea is now guaranteed $780,000 as part of the top nine and will return in November to compete for the top prize of $8.7m.

The Irish player has become a big hit with US poker fans and ESPN have described O’Dea as “about as cool as they come”. They also rate him as one of the most likely winners of the overall tournament.

Poker runs in O’Dea blood, His father, Donnacha O’Dea, is also a professional poker player and made two main event final tables during his career.
