O’Shea and Sheahan out of World Military Games

Ireland’s interest in the boxing event at the 2011 World Military Games has ended in Rio with defeat for both St Michael’s Athy boxer, Thomas Sheahan and Patrick O’Shea from the Sunnyside BC in Cork.

Sheahan went under 19-11 against China’s Nijiati Yusha whilst earlier O’Shea had been defeated 6-14 by Abdelkader Bouhenia of France.The Corkman had won silver at the corresponding championships a year earlier./

91+Kg: Thomas Sheahan (Ireland) beat Rahmani Kamel (Algeria) 11-7

July 18th

69Kg: Graham Hogan (Ireland) lost to Chingiz Berdybekov (Kazakhstan) 17-18

81Kg: Patrick O’Shea (Ireland) beat Azariah Agard (Trinidad and Tobago) 16-8
