According to reports in the Daily Mirror Alex McLeish is lining up a move for Republic of Ireland winger Aiden McGeady.
The former Birmingham chief is well aware of McGeady from his time in Scotland with Rangers and is switching his intentions to the Spartak Moscow winger as a move for Charles N’Zogbia continues to stall.
McLeish is looking for wingers this summer after last season first choice pair of Ashley Young and Stewart Downing both left the club this summer for Manchester United and Liverpool respectively.
McGeady has impressed since his move to Russia and looks more like the player that broke onto the scene with Celtic as an 18 year old. His form in Russia has seen him linked with moves to Everton and Lokomotiv Moscow.
According to the reports, the Russians are believed to be willing to do business in and around the 8 million pound mark as long as the money is paid up front.
