Sunday sees the final day of the week long Galway Festival, and those following us on Sportsnewsireland gave had a good week, with some nice winners and plenty of selections placed. It is basically a case of what we have we hold this afternoon and we are playing safe with two solid eachway bets.
The Carberry family usually lay one out for this week and Peak Raider ran a huge race here last year. In 2011, Jeunopse looks the one to side with in the mares handicap hurdle at 3.25. The ex French horse has run some very promising races in better company during the winter, and with the faster ground in her favour here she can at least make the frame. Odds of 8/1 are very generous and we should at least collect on the place part of our wager.
Bobby John from the Francis Flood stable has been struggling for pace at the finish of his races all season and appears just the type to relish the uphill finish here at Ballybrit. This shrewd yard seldom leave their money behind when one is fancied and there has been cash around for the horse this morning in the 2.50 race. With a good pilot on board he can go close here and 6/1 is a nice price for eachway players.
Selections: 3.25 Jeunopse 8/1(eachway)
2.50 Bobby John 6/1(eachway)
