Carter set to break Wilkinson’s record

Dan Carter looks set to break Jonny Wilkinson’s Test point’s record after being named in New Zealand’s starting 15 for the Tri Nations clash against the Springboks in Wellington on Saturday.

Carter returns to the line at the expense of Colin Slade, who started against Fiji last weekend, and needs just two points on Saturday to overtake Wilkinson’s mark of 1,195 points.

The 29 year old Crusader made his debut for the All Blacks in 2001 scoring 20 points in a win over Wales.

Jerome Kaino, Cory Jane and Sam Whitelock also return to the team while Sonny Bill Williams could make his home Test debut after being named on the bench
