Northern Ireland recall Healy

Northern Ireland boss Nigel Worthington has recalled David Healy to the squad to face the Faroe Islands in their Euro 2012 qualifier.

The North’s record goalscorer is back in the fold after being omitted for the Nations Cup matches against The Republic and Wales back in May. Healy was bitterly disappointed to have been left out of those matches and publicly stated his disagreement with Worthington at the time.

Healy’s Rangers team mate Kyle Lafferty is ruled out after undergoing a hernia operation, but Worthington insists that 35-goal Healy would have been included even if Lafferty had been available.

Ex-Shamrock Rovers keeper Alan Mannus replaces the injured Maik Taylor; the veteran goalkeeper is sidelined with a shoulder injury for the August 10th qualifier at Windsor Park.

Sportsnewsireland.com will have live score updates on all GAA Championship matches over the summer.
