Manchester move for Cerci

According to reports in the Gazzetta dello Sport, Manchester City have made a move for Fiorentina winger Alessio Cerci.

The paper goes as far as to claim that 24-year-old has already agreed personal terms with Roberto Mancini’s side, leaving the clubs to agree a fee as the only stumbling block. That should not pose too much of a problem for cash rich city with Fiorentina believed to be looking for a fee in and around the 6-7 million pound mark.

Should the move go through then Manchester City will be indirectly topping up the Anfield coffers of Liverpool with Fiorentina planning to use the money from Cerci’s sale to offer Liverpool outcast Alberto Aquilani an escape from Merseyside.
