Liverpool’s new found penchant for conceding goals in three’s continued as they drew 3-3 with Norwegian side Valerenga in Oslo.

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish named a strong team with summer signings Stewart Downing, Jordan Henderson and Charlie Adam all starting while there was also places for Pepe Reina, Daniel Agger and Andy Carroll in the starting eleven.

Despite naming full strength side Liverpool found themselves 2 nil down inside the opening 18 minutes as Lars Strand and Fegor Ogude scored for the hosts.

Liverpool pulled one back through Carroll just before half time, the former Newcastle striker getting on the end of Downing’s cross to hook the ball home.

Adam almost levelled the game with a long range effort however with 7 minutes to go Daniel Agger did just that with a header.

The Danish defender looked to have sealed the win on with two minutes left when he scored with a close range volley however with the clock ticking down Mohammed Fellah’s shot caught out Reina and handed the Norwegian side a share of the spoils.

Liverpool have now conceded 15 goals and scored 13 in their five pre-season games to date and with Valencia and the premier league opener against Sunderland just around the corner Dalglish will be hoping that he can solve the defensive frailties that are currently plaguing his side.

Sportsnewsireland.com will have live score updates on all GAA Championship matches over the summer.
