Inter Milan expect Wesley Sneijder to play in Saturday’s Italian Super Cup despite ongoing reports that the player will be sold to Manchester United in the coming days.
The midfielder is close to agreeing a £35m move to Old Trafford, but is currently in China with Inter, ahead of their game with city rivals AC in Beijing.
“He’s playing for us, training with us and he’ll play on Saturday,” said Inter coach Gian Piero Gasperini.
“There is no Sneijder problem.”
Dutch international Sneijder said: “It’s the first time I have set foot in China. It is an honour for me.
“We are here to play an important match. It is special for two reasons – because we are in China and because it is a derby.
“I am convinced that Inter can do well and I will do everything to make this happen. We want to win. We’re here to win.”
