One of Clare’s most promising ‘ stars of the future’ Aaron Considine (19) who plays for the Clarecastle GAA club, faces major surgery on Friday following a ‘hit and run’ incident in the College View area of Ennis early on Monday morning.

Ennis Gardaí in Co Clare have issued an appeal for witnesses to the accident in which the teenage GAA star was ‘critically injured’ – a 19 years old man later presented himself to Ennis Garda station and made a statement about the incident.

Aaron was discovered unconscious and seriously injured on the roadway at around 1am though the Gardai believe he may have been by the roadside for an hour or so before being found.

Clarecastle GAA’s P.R.O, Eoin Brennan reports that “ a special mass will be held for Aaron Considine in Clarecastle on Friday at 10am. Aaron is undergoing surgery on Friday and all are welcome to Ss Peter and Paul’s Church to wish him well in his recovery”.

The GAA- loving youngster has represented Clare at Minor, Junior and Intermediate levels .
