Connacht rugby has signed a new commercial sponsorship deal with Mazda as their remarkable rise up the rugby ladder continues.
Eric Elwood’s men will play their first ever Heineken cup this season and in keeping with their new found status they have an agreed a lucrative new 3 year deal with the Japanese car maker.
The decision to sign with Mazda means that Bank of Ireland, who has been associated with the club since the beginning of the professional era, a period that stretches back 14 years, will no longer adorn the Westerner’s jerseys.
The bank of Ireland deal was worth a 100,000 euro a year to Connacht however while details are not currently available at this time, it is believed that the Mazda deal will be worth considerably more.
