Daryl Murphy has emerged as a transfer target for Premiership side Wolves.

The Celtic striker has played a bit part role since moving to Parkhead from Sunderland failing to dislodge Gary Hooper, Georgios Samaras and fellow Irish man Anthony Stokes with Celtic boss Neil Lennon ready to offload the Irish international as he looks to reduce his wage bill.

According to the Sunday Mail that has alerted Mick McCarthy, who worked with Murphy at Sunderland, is keen to bring the 28 year old back to the Premiership.

If the move does go through it is expected to be a permanent move with Lennon not keen on a loan deal and the Celtic supremo is willing to take a loss on the 800,000 pound paid last year.
