Kevin Doyle has been ruled out of the Republic of Ireland’s friendly against Croatia on Wednesday night.

The Wolves striker had been expected to feature in the match at the Aviva Stadium having received his first call-up to the Ireland squad since sustaining knee ligament damage in March against Macedonia.

However Giovanni Trapattoni said that the 27-year-old was “not 100% fit” and confirmed he wouldn’t be in contention for the clash with the Croats.
