Fernando Torres has emerged as a doubt for Chelsea’s premier league opener against Stoke this weekend.

The striker was replaced by Fernando Llorente after only 15 minutes of Spain’s 2-1 defeat to Italy.

Initially it appeared that the former Liverpool star had injured his ankle, however it later emerged that Torres had suffered mild concussion and had been sent for a scan.

Liverpool players past and present were amongst the scorers as Italian recorded an impressive win, Xabi Alonso equalising for Spain from the penalty spot only for current star Alberto Aquilani to seal the win with an 84th minute effort.
