Hearts v Aberdeen
Hearts opening day point against Rangers looks a long way off now after back to back league defeats by Dundee United and Motherwell.
New manager Paulo Sergio started off with a 4-1 victory over Paksi in the Europa league qualifier, but defeat against Motherwell last Sunday means that his honeymoon period will be cut short should Hearts drop another three points at home to Aberdeen.
One point out of nine is the same problem for Aberdeen, who lost their second game of the season last week against a below par Celtic team.
Craig Brown described the dispossession of Robert Foster that led to Celtic’s goal as, ‘suicide.’
However Brown continues to put a brave face on his side’s awful start to the season, “I am not in any way despondent or pessimistic. We can see the effort there and we are one or two first-team players short – Fyvie gives us a different dimension, Mawene at the back and Chris Clark in midfield as well, and Ryan Jack, an outstanding young player, so we are four short of what we might be.
But every team suffers injuries and has a bad spell. We have lost our last two matches and hopefully that is our bad spell over.’
Prediction: Home win.
