League leaders Derry City will make the journey to Dublin on Friday evening hoping to maintain their position at the summit of the Airtricity league.
Following last weekend’s impressive 2-1 win over Sligo Rovers at the Showgrounds (Two goals in the last 15 minutes saw Bohemians come from behind to take all three points) and a strong performance in Monday’s 1-1 friendly result against Premier League Everton, Bohemians now have a chance to close the gap on the league leaders.
Bohemians have a point to prove against a Derry side who have won both matches between the two sides this season, and not conceded any goals in the process.
Derry lie top of the table on goal difference from Shamrock Rovers, who have a game in hand, following last week’s win over St Patrick’s Athletic at the Brandywell.
For Derry, Gareth McGlynn is still sidelined with a knee injury while they await news on the fitness of Kevin Deery and Ruaidhri Higgins.
Deery is struggling to overcome a thigh strain while Higgins has a virus while the league’s top marksman, Eamon Zayed, will be looking to continue his rich vein of form, having already hit 20 goals so far this season.
For Bohs, Keith Buckley will be out with a broken nose, an injury he received in the Everton game. Stephen Traynor (ankle) is also not available.
Kick off at Dalymount Park is at 7.45 pm.
