Arsenal have made a sensational loan bid for Real Madrid midfielder Kaka but it is understood to have been rejected by the Spanish giants.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger attempted to sign the player as fans grew restless in the wake of Samir Nasri’s move to Manchester City, and Cesc Fabregas’s transfer to Barcelona. However, the bid was unsuccessful and Wenger must now decide if he wants the player on a permanent deal.

Madrid want to get the midfielder’s £153,000-a-week salary off their books and are looking for £17.5million.
