Shamrock Rovers are expected to move their glamour Europa League tie with Tottenham Hotspurs to the Aviva Stadium.

Rovers, who beat Partizan Belgrade 3-2 on aggregate to reach the group stages, currently play their home games in the 6,000-seat Tallaght Stadium but they look set for a bumper pay day as they contemplate moving the tie to the 51,700-seat Aviva Stadium, where the Irish national football and rugby teams play their matches.

Rovers, who were grouped together with Harry Redknapp’s side as well as Russian’s Rubin Kazan and Greek side PAOK are the first Irish team to play in the Europa League.
