Leeds & Brighton draw big guns in cup

Manchester United have been drawn against Simon Grayson’s Leeds United in the third round of the Carling cup giving Sir Alex Ferguson the chance to avenge the Red Devils FA cup exit from 2009.

The clash at Elland Road looks the pick of the draw although Gus Poyet will be hoping his Brighton side, impressive thus far in the Championship can cause an upset when they face Liverpool at home.

Elsewhere Arsenal will play Shrewsbury, Chelsea face a tough tie against fellow premiership side Fulham with big spending Manchester City up against last season’s winner Birmingham.

Everton v West, Spurs away to Stoke and Aston Villa’s clash with Bolton are the other all premier league games in the third round.
