Trotters boss Owen Coyle has strengthened his strike force with the capture of £4million Liverpool player David N’Gog.

The 22-year-old Frenchman, Ngog moved to Anfield in 2008 when former Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez brought him to the club from Paris Saint-Germain.

Coyle has needed more strike power since loosing Johan Elmander and on loan player Daniel Sturridge at the end of last season.

Blackburn and Stoke had been linked with N’Gog but it seems he has opted for the Reebok where he will compete with Ivan Klasnic, Kevin Davies and Tuncay Sanli for a starting place upfront in Coyles team.
