Craig Bellamy is believed to have left Wales’ training camp to travel to Merseyside to discuss a potential return to Liverpool.
The fiery forward currently preparing for Friday’s Euro 2012 qualifier against Montenegro has been granted permission by Manchester City to open dialogue with Kenny Dalglish’s side.
A late transfer before Wednesday night’s deadline now looks a real possibility especially with Bellamy down the pecking order at Manchester City and not in Roberto Mancini’s plans for this season.
Queens Park Rangers and Stoke are also keen on his signature however reports now suggest that Bellamy could end up making a surprise move back to Anfield after two-and-a-half years at City.
The Football Association of Wales is understood to have allowed the striker to make his way from Wales to Merseyside for talks and a medical.
