Manchester City look set for a boost with defender Kolo Toure ready to return the action and the player himself is keen to return a new player after completing his ban for failing a drugs test.
The former Arsenal defender is eligible again for City having after an imposed six months on the sidelines.
The 30 year old was forced to miss the final three months of last season, including City’s FA Cup triumph, after taking a diet pill which contained a prohibited substance.
However speaking to City TV, a rejuvenated Toure said: “I feel totally recharged and as fit as I’ve ever been in my life.
“Hopefully, it will be like having a new signing because I am back and want to challenge for a first-team place.
“I know it won’t be easy because the team is playing so well, but I’ll be pushing hard for an opportunity.
“I’m just so happy to be back and I will give everything I have to the team, this club and our fans. I can’t wait to get going!”
Toure could come back into the reckoning as soon as next week with the defender set to be included in the City squad for the Barclays Premier League clash against Wigan, although he faces a hard task forcing his way back in the line up with the likes of Vincent Kompany, Joleon Lescott and Stefan Savic Savic all ahead of him at the moment.
