Just one point separates 3rd from bottom UCD and 2nd bottom Drogheda and the two teams will meet on Saturday in what is sure to be a nervous and tense affair. With points at a premium for both sides this season, this game is a must win game and it is also the last time that the two teams will meet again this season.
Both sides lost last time out in the league although recent results make Drogheda the form side at present, their late season form moving them to within a point of their opponents.
UCD boss Martin Russell speaking to the club’s official website was keen to snatch a win that would his young team some breathing space “We go into the Drogheda game looking to win points that will aid our cause to secure Premier Division soccer for the club again next year. The players realise this is the best arena for their development and will continue to strive towards performances that see us continuing to progress”
Russell can name a strong squad for the game with Ciaran Nangle this only player not available to him and the boss will have been pleased with his side’s response in coming back from two goals down to snatch a FAI cup replay against Shamrock Rovers last weekend.
Drogheda have no injury worries coming into the came with Dave Rogers the only player unavailable as he misses out through suspension.
