Giovanni Trapattoni has announced his starting line up for tomorrow’s Euro 2012 qualifier with group leaders Russia.
The injury to John O’Shea and suspension of Sean St Ledger force the Italian to pick an unfamiliar back four of Stephen Kelly, Richard Dunne, Darren O’Dea and Steven Ward.
The rest of the starters remains the same as Friday’s draw with Slovakia in a 4-4-2 formation putting to bed rumours that Trap may opt for a more defensive 4-5-1 for the vital clash.
Shay Given has been named in goal but faces a fitness test later today due to the back injury which has been troubling him since last week though it is believed that the Donegal man should be fit to take part.
The full line up is as follows
Republic of Ireland: Given, Kelly, Dunne, O’Dea, Ward, Duff, Whelan, Andrews, McGeady, Keane, Doyle
