UEFA has rejected Arsenal’s appeal over manager Arsene Wenger’s two match suspension following communication between him and the bench during the Udinese game at the Emirates.

Wenger will now miss the Champions League groups games against Borussia Dortmund and Olympiacos FC on 13 and 28 September.

The Arsenal manager claimed he did not know that he was not allowed communicate with his bench under the terms of the first suspension but the wording from the UEFA Appeals Body leave no room for interpretation stating Wenger is “suspended from carrying out his duties”.

Arsenal have also been fined €10,000 due to the conduct of their officials during the win over Udinese last month.
