Kilkenny were clearly the better team on the day and deservedly regained their title.

How one wondered did the “Tipperary Star” sum up this match for its readers?

First the headline: “All-Ireland Senior Hurling Final ‘Cat’astrophe – as Kilkenny Blow Champions Tipperary Away”

As to the actual match do you agree with their reporter’s comments ?

“Yes, twelve months after they had surrendered their title to the same opposition, Kilkenny came storming back to land a severely aggressive assault on a Tipp side which simply did not have the stomach for the fight and which failed to reach the required levels of intensity and workrate.”

“Without doubt, this was one of Tipperary’s poorest championship outings in a long time – the display against Cork in Pairc Ui Chaoimh in 2010 only topping it.”

Let us know if that is how you saw the game – especially if you are a Tipp fan. Views from readers in Kilkenny and all other counties equally welcome.
