Eoin O’Malley today spoke of Leinster’s collective determination to put last week’s 27-3 drubbing by the Ospreys last Friday behind them when they face the Dragons in the RDS this coming Friday night.
The 22 year old centre was speaking today ahead of the provinces first home game of the season and has made it clear that Leinster are hurting and will be looking to put things right when the Dragons arrive in Dublin.
“Mentally we were not there last Friday”, said O’Malley. “We felt pretty confident going into the game last week but we just didn’t turn up. There is massive disappointment within the squad and a bit of a dent of our pride”.
Having lost three out of their first four games last season before going on to land the Heineken Cup, O’Malley is keenly aware of how important a win against the Dragons will be.
“We obviously have a proud home record and are determined to keep it intact. We want to be outworking the opposition and that is the big onus this week”.
The team, which is scheduled to be announced tomorrow afternoon, could include Luke Fitzgerald who could be considered for selection after the captain’s run tomorrow morning.
