Leeds are hopeful to that long term injured quartet of Luciano Becchio, Billy Paynter, Leigh Bromby and Alex Bruce will all return following the international break. They all came through a behind the doors friendly against Hull and manager Simon Grayson should have all four back for the home match against Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Becchio made his first appearance since April in the comfortable 4-0 friendly win for United on Tuesday and found his goal scoring touch immediately. Simon Grayson will be delighted by the return of the South American striker especially following the sale of Max Gradel in the transfer window. Leeds are in 19th position and have just four points from their opening five games.
Grayson though emphasised the importance of the return of Paynter, Bromby and Bruce to the squad. “It wasn’t just about Luciano, though.”

“Leigh Bromby came back from injury and we’ll see where we are with him as well, and both Alex Bruce and Billy Paynter came through without any problems.
“It was good to see Luciano back. The plan was to play him for 45 minutes but things went well, we gave him an hour and he felt good afterwards.
“It’s encouraging and positive. He’s still a bit off being a 100% fit Luciano Becchio, but it’s the first step and it’s good for everyone.”

Leeds play Crystal Palace this Saturday in the Championship and then look forward to a cup tie against rivals Man United at Elland Road a few weeks later.
