Australia have suffered a major blow hours before their clash with Ireland is scheduled to take place with the news that David Pocock is to miss the game due to injury.

The openside missed training during the week, owing to a back strain. It has been confirmed that the strain hasn’t cleared up in time and he will miss the crunch clash with Ireland later on this morning.

Ben McCalman has been drafted into the side to replace Pocock in what could be a major game changer for both sides in a game that could go a long way to deciding the fourtunes of both nations at this year’s World Cup.
