Ireland up to sixth in latest world rankings

Ireland have risen two places to sixth in the latest IRB rankings after their never to be forgotten 15-6 defeat of Australia in the Rugby World Cup last Saturday.

Declan Kidney’s side are now just behind France and England in the rankings, two sides that Ireland could potentially meet at the semi-final stage of the competition should Ireland make It that far.

New Zealand continue to lead the rankings with South Africa overtaken Australia in second place after their good start to the competition.
