Defending champion Workforce pleased his trainer, Sir Michael Stoute, this morning in a racecourse gallop at Sandown, as the colt continues his preparations to defend his Arc de Triomphe title on Sunday week.
The son of Kings Best, off the track since his narrow defeat in the King George, was partnered in the gallop by Ryan Moore, who is working his way back to full fitness after his horror spill at Goodwood in July.
Stoute said of the piece of work “It was a good piece of work and with Dux Scholar there hopefully it will bring him on a little bit more. It was a good, strong piece of work on lovely ground.
“He’s moving well and seems on good shape. Dux kept him busy, kept him honest and is a little fitter than him so it was a good test. “
Workforce is a 7-1 chance with the bookmakers to defend his title behind 7-2 favourite Sarafina and 5-1 chances So You Think and Nathaniel.
