Highly promising Everton midfielder Ross Barkely is the talk of the Premier League at the minute and according to reports both Chelsea and Manchester Utd could be poised to make a bid for the teenage starlet.
The 17 year old has only made three Premier League appearances yet he has been mentioned as on a par with Wayne Rooney when Rooney was his age and despite his inexperience it has been reported that a number of clubs could bid for his signature come January.
While Everton will be desperate to hold onto such a promising talent, the cash strapped club could be forced to sell if the right offer comes in for the player which reports in the Daily Mail suggest could be as much as £30 million.
Along with been mentioned in the same breath as Wayne Rooney one representative Barkely feels that Barkely even rivals the immense talents of Liverpool’s Steven Gerrard.
“I thought Stevie Gerrard was the best kid in his position that I’ve ever seen, but Barkley is as good. There’s no doubt he is going to be a top player.”
