Outcast Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez could be reunited with his old international manager Diego Maradona after the Argentine legend asked his current club Al Wasl to put together an offer after Tevez’s situation at City reached breaking point last week.
Maradona took charge of Dubai side Al Wasl earlier this year and though the move would be a big step down in terms of football they may be one of the few sides willing to offer him a chance and afford to buy out his contract.
El Diego was quick to defend Tevez after his refusal to play against Bayern Munich last week and labelled Alex Ferguson “a joke” for taking Roberto Mancini’s side in the disagreement before knowing the full set of facts.
Tevez has returned to Buenos Aires on Monday to serve his two week suspension from Manchester City after giving his side of the story in the internal investigation into the incident.
Whatever the outcome of the hearing though Mancini has already declared Tevez “finished” at the club and will be keen to remove the Argentine’s negative influence from the dressing room as soon as possible.
