Commentary
Full time: Ireland get the three points, it wasn’t pretty especially in the second half but in the end the first half goals from Kevin Doyle and Aiden McGeady sealed the win. McGeady’s effort might go down as an own goal the former Celtic winger had one of his best games in a green shirt and full of attacking purpose. Ireland go back to second in the table, two points behind Russia but the Russian’s win over Slovakia has all but secured top spot. A draw with Armenia on Tuesday will seal second spot and a play off place, a night of positives really with the yellow card received by Stephen Ward, the only blot on the copy book. Ireland win and keep a record 8th clean sheet, job done. Good night.
Added time Long win’s a header from Given’s long kick but its too no one and Andorra collect
Added time Ward wins a free in his own half, – its now 8 games since they conceded a goal, which is a fantastic record.

46min Second half is underway, The Irish came out first, they are keen to get the job finished.
Half time The first quarter of what will hopefully be a great weekend of Irish sport has concluded and Ireland will be happy as they lead 2-0 in Andorra. Kevin Doyle got the ball rolling early with the opening goal and with 20 minutes almost on the clock McGeady’s effort shot was saved by Gomez in the Andorran goal only to come back off his team mate to put Ireland two up. Its been good in patches, the Andorran haven’t really threatened a couple of efforts from distance aside and the only blot on the copybook is the yellow card for Stephen Ward which rules him out of the increasingly crucial Armenia clash.
