Roque Santa Cruz could end his Manchester City nightmare with a move to Championship side Leeds United.
That’s according to his father, Aproniano Santa Cruz who speaking in an interview with Paraguayan newspaper ABC spoke of his son’s desire to leave the Etihad Stadium and the clubs interested in the former Paraguay international.
Aproniano is reported to have said of this son, “He has a contract with City until June 2013 and is available to the club but it is up to them what they do. They are looking for another club for him because Roque wants to go to another team where he can have more chances to play. There are teams interested and if he had not had so many injuries there would be even more teams,”
Cruz Senior then went on to specifically mention Simon Grayson’s Leeds side saying “The second division is very competitive in England, with powerful teams who were in the top division and have huge stadiums, like Leeds United, but the future will be decided by Manchester City.”
Injury has plagued Santa Cruz’s City career and the striker is well down the pecking order however interest in the former Bayern Munich and Blackburn forward remains strong.
