Bayern Munich linked with Drogba move

Following reports that Salomon Kalou could set for a Stamford Bridge exit his Chelsea team mate Didier Drogba is also been linked with a move after emerging as a target for German giants Bayern Munich.

The Ivory Coast international’s current contract is due to expire at the end of the season and although both club and player are keen to negotiate an extension, it is far from certain he will remain with Chelsea with the main stumbling blocks to any deal appearing to be Drogba’s reluctance to be restricted to a bench role if he stays and the board reservations over offering a 33 year old a lucrative contract.

The stalemate has alerted Bayern Munich, with the Bavarian outfit monitoring the situation closely with a view to offering the striker a pre-contract agreement in January.

Spurs, who were linked with a summer move for the striker, are also believed to be interested in the ex-Marseille forward and could be tempted with a move although regulation would prevent them from offering a pre contract in January.
